Disappointing New Delicious [Update-2]
[Update-2:]
OK, after some time of confusion the service now works as stable as before. I didn't find the time yet to check the new features, but at least the basic functionality is back.
The new and functionally redesigned online bookmarking service Delicious does not yet have the same quality as before. A short test reveals:
- Decreased functionality:
- No RSS-Feeds for tags (stil not clear if they will support RSS of the whole account in the future)
- No support documentation for developers
- No AJAX based editing of bookmarks at the web site
- No bulk editing for managing a set of bookmarks at once
- whatever I would find within the next 15 minutes
- Bugs
- Even within the browser window there are spontaneous logouts
- Trying to set up a new following ends with 501
- Loss of data
- I had a pretty small network (2 users); now it's even smaller (1 user)
- All tag bundles are gone
At the bottom line, I made a backup (still working) and will wait let's say 4 weeks. If the situation gets far more better I will stay otherwise ... The period runs.
[Update:]
AVOS set up a delicious beta status blog to inform about the progress.
